Carer Support
Caring for a relative or friend with cancer can be both emotionally and physically draining. Often carers feel guilty that looking after someone they love feels like such hard work.
It’s important to remember that you can’t always do everything alone. Most carers will need help along the way so don’t be afraid or embarrassed to ask for it. It’s essential too that you look after yourself and make time for you.
Carers may also feel the strain financially if they’ve had to reduce their work hours or incur additional costs for transport and other essentials and financial help might be available.
Specialist support is also available for young carers.
