Age-appropriate Support
Finding out you have cancer comes as a huge shock whatever your age, but it can be particularly tough for children and young people.
In addition to worrying about their health, they may have a range of concerns about issues such as how having, and being treated for, cancer might impact on their studies and social life and whether they will see changes in their appearance. They may worry too about relationships, how to tell friends and how their friends might react.
Specialist services specifically for children, teenagers and young people with cancer, or those affected by a cancer diagnosis in the family, can provide the support and encouragement to help them cope.
